1What is Custom compliance Settings Policy in AirDroid Business?
Custom compliance settings in AirDroid Business is a Mobile Device Management (MDM) Policy that allows administrators to define custom rules or conditions that devices must meet to be compliant in their organization. This policy is often used to ensure that all managed devices adhere to an organization's security standards and policies.
When enabled, you can customize compliance settings. The device will prioritize the compliance rules you customize.
If a device is found to be non-compliant, you can configure the MDM system to take automatic actions, include disabling device or erase device, In addition, you can set up the execution time for these actions.
Note : 1. In what situations will a device be marked as "non-compliant"? The device will be marked as "non-compliant" when the device does not comply with the password rule in [Password]-[Rules for creating passwords]. 2. If you don't know the password rule, please refer to this article.
2Steps to Set Up the "Custom compliance Settings" Policy
Step 1
Access Policy Setting
Log into Admin Console, navigate to the "Policy & Kiosk" Section on the dashboard, and click "Policy & Kiosk Config Files".
Step 2
Create or Edit a Policy
In this section, you have the option to either create a new policy or modify an existing one.
● To create a new policy, click on "+Create Config File", choose "Policy" and then click "OK" on the pop-up.
● To modify an existing Policy, switch to the "Policy" tab, select the Policy File you want to modify.
Click on the "Edit" Button in the top right corner. On the following page, you can set all kinds of limitations and settings for your config file.
Step 3
Access the "Custom compliance Settings" Policy Setting Section
Click on [Restrictions], and find the "Safety" section. Here, you can configure the "Custom compliance Settings" Policy.
Step 4
Set up the "Custom compliance Settings" Policy
1. To allow users to customize compliance settings, turn on the switch on the right.
2. Choose the actions that you want to perform on non-compliant devices.
● Disable device: All apps on the device will be disabled (except for system apps)
● Erase device: The device will be erased (restored to its factory settings)
3. Specify the time you want to execute the action you config before.
Note : 1. This feature only supports devices with Android 7.0 and above. 2. These settings only take effect when AirDroid Biz Daemon has the Device Owner permission on the device.
Step 5
Save and Apply the Policy
After setting up the "USB Debugging" Policy , click "Save" button on the top right corner.
Then, return to the Policy Management section, select the policy you created or edited, find the [Apply Config File to the following devices/groups] and click [+Add]. Choose the devices or groups you want to apply the policy to and confirm.
